In the face of the proposed nationwide protest, the government and stakeholders in Lagos Mainland Local Government came together in unison to say ,“NO TO VIOLENT PROTEST”
the meeting was held at the council secretariat.
The Council Mayoress, Hon. Omolola Rashidat Essien, who doubles as the chief host, appealed to the youths especially to shun every act of violence. She cited the huge lost government incurred from the last endsars protest, which led to the destruction of government and individual properties, businesses, and the loss of lives. ” It was a terrible scene. No one wishes a replay of such,” she said.
She urged parents to advise their children to refrain from using social media as a tool for violence and uproar. She emphasized the collective efforts of all residents of Lagos Mainland LG to protect their businesses. ” If you see something,say something, call on the security apparatus around you for necessary action.”
Essien calls on all stakeholders to continue to believe in the present administration. Definitely, there will be light at the end of the tunnel for every Nigerian.
The Police Area Commander Railway in her remarks call on the protesters to take their protest to Gani Fawehinmi freedom park not within Lagos Mainland, the police is on ground to also protect the protesters as they go about the protest peacefully. Without loss of lives and destruction.
The DPO DENTIN POLICE STATION emphasised on Sensitization of the youths , market men, women, and artisans on the need to” Say No To Violent Protest”, if anyone wants to participate in the protest they should go to any of the stated Park for their protest not to infringe the rights of other’s not participating in the protest and there would be security on guard to protect them so that saboteurs will not hijack the protest. Non protesters can go about their daily businesses without fear in case of any issues. Inform the Police immediately, and we don’t want a repeat of #Endsars. We pray for peace in our environment and community.
Furthermore, the DPO. IPONRI POLICE STATION, stressed on the fact that the police is set to protect the citizens at all cost in as much as it is the right of the people to protest they can express their grievances to the government without vandalism, thus causing chaos and mayhem to other citizens.
The Nigerian police will not tolerate any act of vandalism, breach in law, and order from any individual or groups pretending to be protesters. She urged youths not to be used as agents of destruction by saboteurs.
“We will not allow hoodlums to overturn the peace of the country, don’t try to protect the government, the government is strong to protect itself, say no to violent protest.”
Market Men and Women Advocate for Peace and shun violence protest within the Lagos Mainland Local Government Area and its Environment.
Chief Surpritedent of Corps FRSC advocated for peace, “we should have a rethink on the aftermath of the negative effect of Protest don’t allow destruction, say no to violent protest in Lagos Mainland Local Government and Lagos State” he said.
The civil defence officer said Law Enforcement Agencies will not fold their arms and watch lives and properties be destroyed in the community and state at large. Information is vital, anyone that wants to protest should go about it peacefully without violence at the designated locations.
Youth Leader APC Bibire Matti reiterated that the youths should not participate in the protest because what is been agitated for is not what will be of benefit to them, they should not allow being used by sabotoire to destroy our community.

Though has constitutional protest is, to express our grievance to the government we must not use it to violate the right of other’s that didn’t participate or see it as an opportunity to waste resources that cannot be easily recovered under the disguise of protest, violence is an act of criminality under the Law, whereby anyone found wanting in this action can be prosecuted. It is not just Nigeria alone that is facing economic challenges it is all over the world, where no country is left out, our President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man of the masses that has listening hearing but the sabotoire are the one’s instigating this protest for their own interests and brain washing the youths with false information meanwhile they don’t have the youths at heart, they are faceless protesters making frivolous demands from the government in order to discredit the present administration. The youths should not allow any external forces to use them against the laws binding them has a citizen of a State and Nation against the laws of the same land, if you want to protest go to the stipulated venues scheduled for the protest to hold. In all Say No To Violence.
Present at the stakeholders meeting were the Vice Chairman, Legislators, Executive Members, management team, Nulge Exco, Artisans, Market men and women, Traders, Ndigbo, Arewa, Religious leaders, representatives of different ethnic groups, CDA members, Youths, Nycn, Civil Defence, FRSC, NOA, and traditional rulers in Lagos Mainland Local Government.
