
Reaffirming her administration’s commitment to accessible education and reducing the financial strain on families, the Executive Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area, Hon. Bukola Adedeji Omope, on Monday 15th of September 2025 distributed vital school supplies to pupils within the council.
Newsconnect reports that the educational support initiative, held at the Oduduwa Primary School compound in Gbagada, drew hundreds of excited students, parents, teachers, and community leaders who lauded the council’s proactive investment in the future of young learners.

During the event, Hon. Omope—dressed in a student-themed outfit—presented a variety of learning materials to the pupils, including school bags, mathematical sets (marchets), pencils, rulers (baros), notebooks, and other essential supplies designed to prepare them for the new academic session.
Addressing the gathering, the Executive Chairman emphasised that education remains the bedrock of societal development and reiterated her administration’s commitment to supporting public schools in Bariga.“This gesture is part of our resolve to ensure that no child is left behind due to lack of basic school materials.

”We believe that providing these tools will not only motivate our students to learn but also reduce the financial strain on their parents,” Hon. Omope stated.
Parents and teachers expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful as schools resume across Lagos State.Community stakeholders also commended the council boss for consistently prioritizing education in the LCDA’s development agenda.
The distribution exercise aligns with Bariga LCDA’s broader educational development programs, which include periodic renovation of school infrastructure, support for teachers, and scholarship opportunities for outstanding students.
