The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Barr Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, earlier today represented the Chairman of Conference 57 (Association of Local Government Chairmen in Lagos State) at the Lagos Youth Week celebration, where he delivered a keynote address on the theme “Local Youth Action for the Sustainable Development Goals and Beyond.”
Speaking to a distinguished gathering including the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, Barr Ogunlewe emphasised that young people are “the most powerful force for progress” in Lagos State and beyond. He highlighted local governments’ pivotal role in localising the SDGs through practical actions in education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
The Executive Chairman challenged youths to transition from beneficiaries to co-creators of development, urging them to seize leadership opportunities today rather than waiting for tomorrow.
