OUR CULTURAL HERITAGE, OUR PRIDE – ISÈSÈ DAY 2025 CELEBRATION
On behalf of the wonderful people of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Mayor Jubril Kolawole Emilagba, Executive Chairman, join millions of Yoruba sons and daughters across the world to celebrate Isese Day 2025.
Isese Day is more than just a holiday, it is a day of reflection, remembrance, and recognition of our roots. It is a time when we proudly embrace the traditions of our forefathers, uphold the values of truth, fairness, hard work, and community spirit, and showcase the beauty of our cultural heritage to the world.
As Mainlanders, we take pride in being custodians of a rich and diverse culture that has stood the test of time. From our language, music, folklore, traditional institutions, and values of respect for elders and communal living, our heritage continues to shape who we are today and inspires the next generation to remain grounded in their identity.
This year’s celebration is a call for unity and peaceful coexistence, reminding us that no matter our religious, political, or social differences, we are first bound together by culture, heritage, and history. By preserving our traditions, we preserve our dignity and strengthen the future of our people.
As we mark this day, let us all continue to promote peace, harmony, and love within our families, our communities, and our dear Local Government. Together, we can uphold the essence of Isese which is about living truthfully, respecting humanity, and contributing positively to society.
I wish the good people of Lagos Mainland Local Government a joyous, peaceful, and memorable Isese Day 2025. May the wisdom of our ancestors continue to guide us, and may our cultural heritage remain our pride forever.
Signed:
Mayor Jubril Kolawole Emilagba
Executive Chairman,
Lagos Mainland Local Government.
