As he hits the ground running with the implementation of developmental projects for the people of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Honourable Emilagba Jubril Kolawole, the Executive Chairman of the aforementioned council, reiterated his readiness, commitment geared toward activities designed to deliver landmark projects across different sectors for his people.
Newsconnect reports that the Chairman made this assertion at the flag-off ceremony of free medical outreach programme organised by the council in collaboration with COWLSO (AMBODE ERA SUB-GROUP) towards celebrating the 25th National Women’s Conference.

The THEME of the conference was dubbed “HEALTH FOR ALL: BRIDGING GAPS, BUILDING A HEALTHY FUTURE”
In an interview with journalists at the event, Emilagba said ;”We are preparing to build more PHCs for our people, because we know the problem our people are facing and we are prepared for them .
“You can’t just be giving food, tarring roads, we also need to take care of the health of our people.”We already have 5 primary health centers, we still want to add more. We are preparing to build our library.

“Just 16 days to this administration we started constructing a road at Jebba by Osholake to tell you that we are prepared for this job and by the grace of God, we shall contiue to be doing good for our people.
“My people know me and I know them and I am prepared for them. Am in charge to give them their needs that we are prepared for.”The Health outreach is going to be a continuous program, whoever fails to benefit from this, would definitely benefit in subsequent programs.
“We have started road construction work in Jebba street, by the grace of God by tomorrow, we will distribute 500 GCE forms. It is only in secondary school we teach computer knowledge. We want to challenge other local governments in Lagos State by equipping all our primary schools with computers.

”We will start from UNA Primary School. The computer system will be powered by solar light. We have only one Police post in Lagos Mainland and it is not in good state. We are waiting for approval from commissioner of Police, so that we can start rebuilding the police post.
“While we intend to construct schools, road networks, we also will embark on massive stomach infrastructure. Going forward, we will start giving our people food items called ‘Ounje Emi’ on a monthly basis.”I want our mothers to take it home that Lagos Mainland is ready to work, we are prepared.

We are going to copy what the First lady has done, and continue the program in our local government”. Emilagba said the gathering is not just another official event; it is a bold statement of its administration shared conviction that good health is the foundation of a prosperous community. He said the theme of this year’s conference is both timely and inspiring.
“It reminds us that quality healthcare must not be the privilege of a few, but the right of all, irrespective of social or economic standing.”Through this outreach, we are deliberately working to close healthcare gaps that too often lead to preventable illnesses, needless suffering, and avoidable loss of life.
“The programme will provide free consultations, medical tests, treatments, health education, and where necessary, referrals. It is designed to touch lives directly, restore hope, and empower residents with the knowledge and services needed for healthier living”. He said.

The First lady of Lagos State Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu who was ably represented at the event by the coordinator of COWLSO (AMBODE ERA SUB-GROUP) Mrs Aderonke Solomon said they want everyone to benefit from the free medical outreach that is why they brought the intervention to their domain.
” We are happy to be in three divisions. Lagos West which we have done in Mushin and Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye in August. So Yesterday, we did the one for Yaba local government and today, we are having another one at their domain. ”We really want them to benefit so we bring the health outreach to their domain.

“This one covers the Lagos Central. We had one at Makoko area and we are having another one at Lagos Mainland in Oyingbo. ”We choose this place as a central place to carry out the health outreach. So we have five divisions.”We have late Mrs Mobolaji Johnson’s Era, we have Chief Mrs Oluremi Tinubu Era, We have H. E Abimbola Fashola’s era, we have H.E Mrs Bolanle Ambode’s era, and lastly we have Dr Mrs Ibijoke Sanwoolu’s era.
”So this is the first phase the Ambode’s era is having this here. We had 500 people at Yaba and also 500 people here. In Mushin and Odi-olowo we had 1000 for the 2 days. So lastly we will be moving to Epe Local government, by next week for the Lagos East while we come back to finish it at Lekki and Ibeju Lekki local government to cover Lagos east senatorial district.

“We brought the Blood Pressure to check the BP, if it is high low or normal. We brought the equipment to check diabetes, cervical screening and breast screening. We are having the dental, chest xray to check if there is TB or anything pertaining to chest ailment. ”There is also the eye screening session. After the screening, they will see doctor.
So if they have anything aside of what we can cover here today, they would be referred to general hospital to follow up with their checkup.”We are doing many things, not only health outreaches. We are doing rehabilitation, empowerment for widow, we are doing empowerment for the less privilege ones, our conference is coming and you would hear more of what we are doing at the conference.

“Lagos Mainland LG CDC Chairman Mr Salako Muiz Babatunde told Newsconnect correspondent at the event that the initiative is a very good one, that they welcome it and hope it is going to be a continuous exercise.”Health is wealth. Before now I used glasses, but I no longer. Before I can’t read without my glasses but not the same anymore.
“I want the youths of Lagos Mainland to key into all the government programs. We look forward to more infrastructural development in the community , structural infrastructure and stomach infrastructure.”Kudos to Mr Chairman, since he emerged, he has carried the community along. God will be with him, enrich him and give him long life and prosperity “.Benediciaries expressed excitements, thanked the chairman and appeal not to let the exercise a one-off but a continuous exercise.
