Yesterday, August 13, 2025, under the visionary leadership of Hon. Prince Adedayo Ladega, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, a vibrant delegation of community leaders, artisans, and residents from Ikorodu LGA participated in the National Building Safety and Structural Integrity Initiative (NBSSII) Workshop, held at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
The high-level workshop, hosted by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, brought together stakeholders from across the country to address urgent issues surrounding building safety, structural integrity, and sustainable urban development.
The Workshop Featured Two Core Segments:
Part A: National Building Safety and Structural Integrity Initiative (NBSSII)
Keynote speakers included:
Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, FNIA, FCIB, Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, who reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to enforcing national standards for building safety and structural durability.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who presented “The Lagos Experience,” outlining proactive state measures for construction safety and disaster prevention under the THEMES+ Agenda.
Part B: Building Sector Community Engagement
This segment emphasized grassroots participation in advancing safer construction practices, highlighting the role of local artisans, engineers, and regulatory agencies in strengthening urban resilience.

Prince Adedayo Ladega’s strategic mobilization of Ikorodu LGA participants reflects his administration’s unwavering focus on community engagement, proactive leadership, and infrastructure safety, which further reinforces Ikorodu’s commitment to supporting federal and state initiatives aimed at safer, smarter, and more sustainable urban development.
