In a bid to support the Muslim faithfuls of Kosofe Local Government during Ramadan fast, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon Barr Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe distributed food palliatives to 41 mosques across the local government yesterday at the council secretariat.

The palliatives were channeled through the Kosofe League of Imams and Alfas, an Islamic clerical body in Kosofe. The distribution exercise was expected to bring relief to residents, especially the less fortunate, as they observe fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and charity. During this period, Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to dusk.

The League of Imams and Alfas will be responsible for ensuring the equitable distribution of the palliatives to the targeted beneficiaries within Kosofe Local Government Area and the second phase of the palliative distribution will commence next week to reach more residents of the local government.
