Jagunmolu of Shomolu-Bariga, Oba Gbolahan Akanbi Timson
In his effort to set the record straight for the sake of posterity, His Royal Highness Oba Gbolahan Akanbi Timson, the revered Jagunmolu of Shomolu-Bariga didn’t just briefed some journalists in Lagos about his endorsement and support for the second term election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, he also denied involvement with any group of oodua movement agitating for secession.
Newsconnect reports that Oba Timson at the press briefing said he doesnt mince words, “If I am not for you, I am against you. I don’t mince words about it. I am for President Tinubu 2020 election, we would support him, he will come back and he will perform.
”Did Tinubu put us in this trouble ? Is he responsible for all our woes ? He has opportunity of consolidating on what he has achieved in 2027.
”Settling debts for Nigeria happened during Obasanjo time, Tinubu is another person to achieve the settling of Nigeria huge debt. Do you know what that means ?
According to Oba Timson, supporting President Tinubu’s second term is not just about politics — it is about securing a stable, prosperous, and inclusive future for generations to come.
”These are some of the things I want us to consider, let us give him the necessary support, let’s make sure he gets the ticket in 2027, he can’t ask us for third term”.
Oba Timson also at the briefing distanced himself from the Yoruba nation movement, a secessionist agitation that has been gaining traction in some quarters. He calls for unity, peace and progress within a reform but undivided Nigerian.
He said why it is important to promote Yoruba culture and values, a call for separation is not the solution to the region’s challenge.
