…Applaud Infrastructure Development

More than 10,000 party supporters were on hand to receive Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo as he commissions the Solution Market and Solution Park in Ekwulọbịa, in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, with commendation on the infrastructure development of the area.

The governor, who has attained numerous infrastructure and transformation achievements in the state, affirmed that the projects are part of his administration’s comprehensive urban regeneration agenda, in a move to turn Anambra into the Dubai-Silicon Valley of the country.

At the event, Governor Soludo said, “What we are commissioning today is consistent with the All Progressives Party Alliance (APGA) party mantra of leave no one behind,” and the facilities with modern infrastructure aim to create an environment that stimulates economic activity while improving the quality of life for residents.

“We are using this place as a model for what a modern market should look like,” he stated, emphasizing the need to ensure that citizens can “trade and shop in pleasure,” the governor affirmed.

According to the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the new marketplace is notably the third built by the state government to cater to the specific needs of the traders in Ekwulobia, while the Solution Park features an expansive open space for parking, a park for leisure, solar power installations, canteen facilities, and reliable water supply.

Aburime said the facility particularly benefits those who will be displaced by the ongoing construction of the Ekwulọbịa flyover, which is nearing completion.

Highlighting the collaborative nature of the project, the Governor noted that the Solution Market and Park are properties of the state government developed in partnership with local authorities, ensuring efficient and effective management. “They have profiled those who will get shops here, free, and at no cost to the beneficiaries,” Soludo disclosed.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Transportation, Barrister Patricia Igwebuike, referred to the bus terminal as a legacy project aimed at alleviating congestion. Also, Chief Evarist Ubah, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Markets, noted that the establishment of the facility signifies the complete urbanisation of Ekwulọbịa.

Earlier, Dr. Chibueze Offorbike, the Mayor of Aguata LGA, Chief Joseph Ezeokafor, as well as tricycle operators, bus drivers, and market women, expressed their gratitude to the Governor for the initiative that has transformed the area from a previously untouched bush to a developed space.
