In its usual style of appreciating the giant strides of brands in the maritime sector, ‘Portbizness’, the anchor of Nigerian Ports presented awards to distinguished customer service in Lagos.

Newsconnect reports that distinguished Customer Service Appreciation Night had been a platform of celebrating excellence, dedication, and incredible people and brands who make exceptional service delivery not just a department but a culture.

The MD/CEO of Portbizness & Convener Distinguished Customer Service Award Mr James Shodiya in his welcome address at the event said;

“Tonight, we have come together to recognize companies and individuals who have gone above and beyond not simply meeting expectations but exceeding them. Not just solving problems, but creating experience that builds loyalty, trust and human connection.

“Why this event is prominent to National and Human wellbeing is because customer service is often the first and last impression of a brand. It is the heartbeat of any organisation. The voice, the face and the helping hands that turns challenges into opportunities and customers into lifelong advocates.

“The theme of this edition of the DCS Appreciation Night is Standard & Satisfactory Service Delivery in a Challenged Economy like Nigeria. The past years have brought its share of challenges and changes but it has also brought remarkable stories of resilience, innovation and empathy.

“From Frontline representatives to support teams, from call centers to digital service platforms, each brand and individual nominated for the DCS award has played a vital role in shaping the future of customer engagement.

“Tonight is all about you, your achievements, your stories and your unwavering commitment to excellence”. He said.

One of the awardees Dr Azeez Abayomi Mustapha, Managing Principal of AZ Logistics, a Frontline indigenous company making impacts in clients and customers relations told journalists after he received his award that;

“Whatever you are doing in life, people are watching you. You can’t be a judge in your own case. However, be consistent, have integrity, be trustful in whatever you are doing.

“Like I said earlier on, whatever you are doing people are watching you and the end results would come out. Life it’s about challenges and life will not give you free life. It is there from the genesis and that is how it is going to be. It depends on you how you see it.

“There is always opportunity in a problem, and there are always challenges in life, you just have to follow it the way it is. It depends on you not to give up whatever comes your way”. He said.

Azeez gave kudos to Mr James Shodiya for putting the event up. He urged him to do more as a result of the myriads of problem in the maritime industry. 

“This is an Industry you wake up with different problems. If not for customs, tomorrow it maybe for shipping company why the next day it may be for transporter. 

“This is an industry that is engineer for every economy but unfortunately, Nigeria where we are, we don’t value the practitioners. Let him keep putting more effort in the industry”. He said 

The Managing Director of LASCOPA Mr Afolabi Solebo who delivered a key note speech summarily said consumers have rights. When you feel your rights have been infringed upon, do not suffer in silence. Instead reach out to LASCOPA. 

Truck Transit Parks Limited a technology company providing truck mobility solutions at the event shared how they were able to manage the traffic within metropolitan areas to reduce gridlocks, increase safety for residents and increase revenue for stakeholders. 

According to them, TTP has processed about 2.7 million port and non pirt-bounr truck movements via the eti traffic management system in over 49 months. 

The Eto technology solution has created about 225 direct employment and over 400 indirect employments.
