A plane carrying 62 passengers has on Friday night, crashed on outskirts of São Paulo, Brazil, killing all aboard.

reports that this was revealed through a statement released by Voepass Airline.

According to the statement; the plane was carrying 58 passengers and four crew members when it crashed.

Footage on social media showed the plane losing balance before spiraling down into a crash.

Brazil’s civil defense said the aircraft crashed into multiple houses.

Authorities revealed that one home was damaged when the plane crashed, noting that no resident was injured.

Videos showed the aircraft in flames after it came down as thick smoke billowed into the air.

The airline is yet to confirm the cause of the crash.

President Luiz Lula da Silva described the news as “very sad” and extended his solidarity with the victims’ families and friends.

Brazilian Air Force said it has sent a team of investigators to the scene of the accident.
